General Notes:
Isaac 7 Latshaw (Joseph 6 , Peter Joseph 5 Lattschar, Hans Heinrich 4 Lotschar, Hans 3 Lotscher, Hans 2 , Family Name 1 L?tscher) was born April 20, 1764 in Adams Co., PA, and died June 05, 1833 in Hamilton Township, Adams County, PA. He married Anna Fahnestock Abt. 1788 in PA (resided Reading Twp). She was born June 26, 1763 in Lancaster Co., Pennsylvania, and died December 26, 1851 in Hamilton Township, Adams County, PA. Notes for Isaac Latshaw: [Brethern Heritage Along the Big Conewago, p 50) Isaac Latshaw (1764-1833) was the son of Joseph Latshaw (1730-1820) who migrated into Fayette county, Pennsylvania. E.L. Sheffer claimed that Joseph Latshaw was his great grandfather. p52 As early as 1783, Isaac Latshaw was listed as a resident of Reading Township with 200 acres and five inhabitants. At this time, he owned four cattle, four horses, eight sheep and one still. The Latshaw family purchased a farm which lay close to the Kuhn Fording. The Latshaw family lived in a home in which the first floor was of stone construction and the second floor of logs. ... Isaac and Anna reared their children as farming people. Many of the sons acquired land in Reading, Washington, and Warrington Townships of York, and Adams Counties. [Gettisburg "Compiler", June 11, 1833 obituary) DIED - On Wednesday the 5th inst. after a protracted illness, which he bore with the most christian fortitude and pious resignation to the Devine will, Mr. Isaac Latshaw, of Reading township, in the 70th year of his age. The deceased was a Minister of the Gospel, and a zealous laborer in the vineyard of his Heavenly Father. He has left behind him an aged and disconsolate widow, and a numerous family of children, to mourn the loss of a kind and affectionate husband and father. By his amiable and unassuming deportment, he had endeared himself to all who knew him. Society will long feel the loss it has sustained by the death of one of its most useful and long tried citizens. He has now received the end of all his hopes, the reward of all his toils, and joined in communion with Saints and Angels, in singing praises to the Lamb. S.T.R. More About Isaac Latshaw: Burial: Mummerts Cemetery, Adams County, PA Notes for Anna Fahnestock: [Latshaw_FromThera.FTW] Source: "Brethren Heritage Along the Big Conewago", by Elmer Q. Gleim, who states that Anna Fahnestock (June 26, 1763- December 26, 1851,) was the daughter of Dietrich (1733-1816) and Esther Bauman Fahnestock (1740-1792.) However, in reading the will of Dietrich Fahnestock, he lists the names of 10 children, and none are Anna, nor are any married to a Latshaw. The book, "The Fahnestock Genealogy" states that Dietrich and Esther did, indeed, have a daughter named Anna, but she was born born 31 Jul 1765, not 26 Jun 1763, and "must have died young, as she wasn't listed in her father's will." This book goes on to state that Isaac Latshaw's wife was _____ Snyder. Possibly Anna 'Fahnestock' was married first to a Fahnestock and her maiden name was Snyder?
