The names of Robert and Lawrence became changed on property records (Land Patents) to Guggeon and later to Guggon down their family line according to Charles A. Gudgeon in his book "Gudgeons in America."
• Lawrence Gudgeon inherited land from his father, Robert Gudgeon, Sr.: Lawrence Gudgeon inherited land from his father, Robert Gudgeon, Sr, 1681, Anne Arundel Co, Maryland. "Brentwood" was divided between his two sons Robert II and Lawrence at the time of his death. Besides this original estate, an additional 85 acres called "Orphan's Addition" was purchased from George Yates adn another 50 acres called "Brentwood." |
