• Religion: started out by his parents in the Lutheran church but after coming to Ohio joined the Reformed. • Migrated, 1838, Darke Co, Ohio. He was brought to Darke County, Ohio by his parents when he was three. He grew up on a farm but learned the carpenter's trade, building many of the large barns and substantial houses in that neighborhood.
