  Noted events in his life were:

• Religion: started out by his parents in the Lutheran church but after coming to Ohio joined the Reformed.

• Migrated, 1838, Darke Co, Ohio. He was brought to Darke County, Ohio by his parents when he was three. He grew up on a farm but learned the carpenter's trade, building many of the large barns and substantial houses in that neighborhood. He took an active part in local affairs and held several minor township offices.

George married Phebe Jane Noggle, daughter of Michael Noggle and Mary Mote, on 9 Jan 1858 in Greenville, Darke Co, OH. (Phebe Jane Noggle was born on 26 Apr 1841 in Harrison Twp, Darke Co, Ohio, died on 19 Sep 1872 in Darke Co, Ohio and was buried in Old Cemetery, New Madison, Darke Co, Ohio.)
