Rhoda's birth date is listed in the James Phillips Bible as Dec. 18, 1793. Her tombstone lists her birth as Feb. 12, 1794. In James Phillips will: "To my daughter Rhody Hardy, one Negro woman name of Sarah, and one note of hand I hold against John Hardy for $133.32 1/2."
