According to Robert Gantt, R #6, Andalusia, AL, and James G. Gauntt, Chattanooga, TN 1965 family chart Peter "migrated from Linconshire, England to the colonies in 1630. He settled in Sandwich, Mass. Being a builder of stone and brick. He worked and lived in several different localities. He finally moved to Burlington, N.J. in 1638. He had two sons by his first wife Hannah."

"Gaunt, Peter, Lynn, rem. to Sandwich 1637, there was liv. 1643. Thomas, Rehoboth, perhaps s. of the preced. may be the same as in ano. part of the Col. Rec. is giv. Grant, of the bur. of whose ch. Sept 1676, ment. is made on Col. Rec. had John, b 21 Jan. 1678."
