bullet  General Notes:

Known to everyone as Ann, she lived most of her adult life in Columbus, Ohio, and returned to Higginsville after she became ill. Ann was born in Higginsville, Missouri, a daughter of the former Sophia Leas and James Leonard McGinness of Higginsville. She was a housewife and a part-time retailer.

Her father was Irish and her mother was German (Prussia). Both are buried in City Cemetery, as well.

Ann's first husband was James B. "Jim" Hughes, a national-grade commercial artist who once worked for Westinghouse drawing (or instance) kitchen applianes before there was clipart. He fashioned a periodic cartoon strip for "Westinghouse Magazine" known as "Diz Aster". As a hobbyist, he had a woodworking shop at home. Jim remarried, and later died in possibly Hawaii.

Her second husband was Clarence Sherry, a supervisor at a General Motors' plant in Columbus, Ohio. Clarence also painted vehicles at his home, in addition to riding large motorcyles. He died in 1986.

Higginsville's City Cemetery is officially called "City Cemetery" without the Higginsville designation. 3
