JAMES BENJAMIN McKNIGHT
James Benjamin McKnight, 64, of Sacramento, died at home in his sleep June 16, 2006, surrounded by family, after a courageous seven-month battle with cancer.
He was born April 4, 1942, in San Francisco to Cleone McKnight and the late James McKnight, both longtime residents of Weaverville.
He graduated from Trinity County High School in 1961 and from American River College with a degree in nursing. He recently retired as a registered nurse.
He leaves behind his mother, Cleone, of Redding; brothers, David and wife Susan of Los Angeles, and Donn and wife Jeanne of San Francisco; sisters, Carla Johnson and Barbara Leas and her husband Bernie of Anchorage, Alaska; numerous nieces and nephews; and his beloved kitty-cat, Gabbie.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, June 24, at 2 p.m. at the Weaverville Seventh-Day Adventist Church. Memorial donations may be made to a favorite charity.
