  • Born: 1002, France
  • Marriage (1): Renaud de Bourgogne I
  • Died: 1038, Bourgogne, France at age 36

  General Notes:

Adelaide was the daughter of Duke Richard II of Normandy and Judith of Brittany.
In 1016, she married Renaud I of Burgundy and had the following children:
William I of Burgundy (1020\endash 1087)
Gui de Brionne or Guy of Burgundy (c. 1025\endash 1069), educated at the court of Normandy, who would succeed the Duchy of Normandy against his cousin William of Normandy (later William the Conqueror), but had to leave his county of Brionne and Vernon in Normandy, after being at the head of the coalition of the barons of Normandy, which was defeated at the Battle of Val-ès-Dunes in 1047. It is known that Guy de Brionne found refuge with his uncle Geoffrey II of Anjou. He later attempted to usurp the county of Burgundy to his brother William.
Hugh (c. 1037 \endash c. 1086), Viscount of Lons-le-Saunier, sire Montmorot, Navilly and Scey married to Aldeberge Scey. They had a son Montmorot Thibert, founder of the house Montmorot (alias Montmoret).
Falcon or Fouques of Burgundy (fate unknown).
Alberada of Buonalbergo, who married Robert Guiscard.

Adelaide married Renaud de Bourgogne I, son of Otto Guillaume De Boulogne and Ermentrude De Roucy. (Renaud de Bourgogne I died on 4 Sep 1057 in Departement de la Marne, Champagne-Ardenne, France and was buried in Cathédrale Saint-Jean de Besançon, Besancon, Departement du Doubs, Franche-Comté, France.)
