RONALD DEAN GILLEM, 67, of Churubusco, died Thursday July 29, 2010, at his home, surrounded by his family. Born in Kokomo, Ind., he was the son of the late John and Nellie Gillem. He worked for Continental Steel in Kokomo for 25 years and worked for Slater Steel for 17 years and Valbrun Steel for 6 years in Fort Wayne. He was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Life Bridge Church. Surviving are his wife, Eloise Gillem of Churubusco; sons, David (Nickie) of Garrett and Donald of Huntertown; daughter, Annette (Ken) White of Leo-Cedarville; brothers, John (Marianne), Russell and Bill (Mary Ellen) Gillem both of Kokomo; sisters, Ima Jean Sanders, Donnie Stevenson, Carolyn Randalls, Judy Hayes, Barbara Langley and Elizabeth (Francis) Fulk, all of Kokomo; grandchildren, Vanessa, Nathan (Amanda) who is currently serving in the U.S. Navy, David, Stacie, Tracie, Richard, Jared, Aimee and James; great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Dakota, Hailey, Michael, Aiden; sister-in-law, Patricia Leverton of Indianapolis, Ind.; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Mary. Service is 2:30 p.m. Monday at Covington Memorial Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road with calling 1 hour prior to service. Calling also from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Entombment will be in Covington Memorial Gardens.
