Croff Rites Friday, 20 Nov 1962, 106 Gold Ave, Grand Rapids, Kent Co, MI. 2 Services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Briggs Funeral Home for former Pellston resident Cyrus M. Croff, who died Monday at his home, 108 Gold Ave, N.W., Grand Rapids. Rev. Russell King will officiate, and interment will be in the Alanson cemetery.
He was born in Rockford, and moved with his family to a farm near Alanson as a small boy. He married in 1911, and until 1952, resided on a farm at Vah, near Pellston. Since 1952, he lived at Grand Rapids, where he was employed as a sawyer at the Grand Rapids Dowel Works.
Cyrus married Mary Ellen Gillette, daughter of Calvin Gillette and Bessie Schreder, on 26 Oct 1911 in Wildwood, Emmet County, Michigan. (Mary Ellen Gillette was born in 1894 in Newaygo, Reynolds Township, Montcalm, Michigan, died in 1971 2 and was buried in Littlefield Township Cemetery, Alanson, Emmet Co, MI 2.)
