Conrad owned a large tract on Piney Creek, within 1 mi. of Martinsburg,
where himself and wife lived and died '97 he d May 30, 1843, aged 52 yrs., 18 ds.
and she d Jan. 27, 1873, aged 73 yrs., 6 mos. and 23 ds.'97 both buried about
4 miles from Martinsburg, on Piney Creek, at a place called " Smithfield."
They reared a family of 15 ch'97 3 d in infancy, 1 dau d at 2 yrs., and 1 s at
20 yrs. ; the others all m and reared large families.
