Arthur E. Leas ¹

Arthur E. "Shreve" Leas, of East Berlin, departed this life, April 19, 2013, at The Brethren Home Community in New Oxford. He was the husband of Jeune R. (Resser) Leas.

Shreve was born August 11, 1924, in Reading Twp., Adams Co., the son of the late Paul E. and Mazie (Spangler) Leas.

He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII, retired from Pennwood Heel in East Berlin.

Shreve was a life member of the East Berlin V.F.W., and was a member of the East Berlin Fire Co.

In addition to his wife, Jeune, Shreve is survived by three brothers, Fred Leas of East Berlin, Paul Leas of Glen Rock, and Harold Leas of East Berlin; one sister, Janet Shoemaker of Dover; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a brother, Charles Leas; and seven sisters, Ellen Hinkle, Catherine Marks, Blanche Boyce, Millie Eisenhart, Annie Wilt, Elverna Borror, and Dorothy Miller.

Funeral services will be held, April 23, 2013, at 2 p.m. at the Feiser Funeral Home, Inc., East Berlin, with the Rev. Linda S. Titzell officiating. Burial will be in East Berlin Union Cemetery. A viewing will be held the 23rd at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until the time of the service. ⁴

Arthur married Juene R. Resser, daughter of Justin Resser and Anna Mae Shafer. (Juene R. Resser was born on 8 Jun 1927 in York, York County, Pennsylvania USA,⁵ died on 20 Oct 2023 in The Brethren Home Community Personal Care, New Oxford, , Pennsylvania, USA ⁵ and was buried in East Berlin Cemetery, East Berlin, Hamilton Township, Adams County, Pennsylvania, USA ⁵.)
