ROY Y. HALL, age 88, of South Milford, died early Sunday morning, September 29, 2013 at home. Mr. Hall was born in Rockford, Illinois on July 9, 1925 to the late John Hall and Rinda A. (Mackenzie) Hall. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during WWII and was a Purple Heart recipient for injuries he sustained in combat. He returned from the war and married Florence Charlyene Fritz on August 5, 1949 in LaGrange. Charlyene died just three days before Roy on September 26, 2013. They were married 64 years. Roy was a repairman and employed many years with Flint & Walling in Kendallville before retiring in 1990. After he retired, he worked in the bakery and hardware departments at WalMart in Kendallville and Auburn. Roy loved playing his banjo, especially playing with Charlie from Stroh, and also making banjos by hand. He enjoyed Detroit Tigers baseball and the bluegrass festivals. Roy loved working outside in his yard and garden, traveling all around the United States to visit family and friends, and working crossword puzzles. He was a member of the South Milford United Methodist Church.

Roy married Charlyene Fritz, daughter of Monroe Fritz and Hattie L. Hall. (Charlyene Fritz was born on 7 May 1931, died on 26 Sep 2013 in Lagrange County, Indiana, USA and was buried in Brushy Chapel Cemetery, Lagrange, Lagrange County, Indiana, USA 1.)
