Robert J. Haws
Robert J. Haws, 52, of 1344 24th, died Tuesday in a Salt Lake City nursing home after a long illness.
He was born Sept. 12, 1923 in Ogden, a son of Gilbert and Bertha Bowcutt Haws.
He married Zada McGill on Feb. 4, 1944, in Ogden. They were later divorced.
He was a Chef in the restaurant business. He served 20 years in the U.S. Air Force and was discharged as a master sergeant.
He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles No. 2472 and was a member of the American Legion, Baker Merrill Post No. 9. He was a member of the national chapter of the Arnold Air Society and a member of the Armed Forces Association.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Nikki Lovell and Mrs. Sidney Pennington, both of Ogden; Mrs. Leslie Larsen, Seattle, Wash; three grandchildren; one brother and one sister Lee Haws, Ogden; Mrs. Shirley Tavare, Castro Valley, Calif.
Graveside services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. in the Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch Cemetery, directed by the Hill Air Force Base Honor Guard.
Friends may call at the Myers Mortuary in Ogden Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday prior to services.
Burial will be in the Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch Cemetery.
