W. HOWARD LEAS, 80, of 519 Mumford Dr., Troy, died at Stouder Memorial Hospital, Troy. Mr. LEAS was b. Feb. 5, 1916, in Darke County, son of William Andrew and Elsie Agnes (BAKER) LEAS. His first wife, Bernice (METZCAR), d. in 1975. A brother is also deceased.
He was a member of the Grace Baptist Church of Troy, the Franklin Lodge No. 14 F&AM; Franklin Chapter No. 24 RAM; Franklin Council No. 14 R&SM; Coleman Commandery No. 17 K.T.; and member and past patron of Troy Chapter No. 256 Order of Eastern Star. A World War II U. S. Navy veteran, he was a graduate of Palestine High School. Mr. LEAS retired as a refrigeration service engineer from Wright Patterson Air Force Base in 1970 and retired from Dettmer Hospital, Troy in 1980.
Surviving are his wife, Pauline (WOOLUM); one son, James A. LEAS of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; a daughter, Judy LEAS of Lancaster, Calif.; a stepson, Jim OWENS of Troy; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Paul (Wanda) NAPIER of Troy; one brother, Donald LEAS of Chattanooga, Tenn.; one sister, Vivian W. WILLIAMS of Laughlin, Nev.; eight stepgrandchildren; and nine stepgreat-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held...Tues. at Baird Funeral Home, Troy...Burial will be in Miami Memorial Park, Covington."
