Virginia Aull Wood, 80, died at her home in Tucumcari April 23 at 2:35pm following an extended illness.
Wood was born August 5, 1915 in El Paso, Texas, and had been a lifetime resident of Tucumcari. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Tucumcari. She managed the Elder Shop in Tucumcari for many years. She was a home maker.
Surviving Virginia Wood are her daughters Joyce Taylor and husband Joe Bill of Santa Fe, Sue Martin and husband Edsell of Tucson; Kay Rose and husband Dave ofMidland, Texas; and Nancy Smart and Dennis of Tucumcari, 10 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Earl Wood in January and by sister Marge Pruett.
Graveside funeral services are scheduled for this morning at 10:30 am in the Tucumcari Memorial park Cemetery with Rev. Jim Witcher, minister of the First Christian Church and Rev. Bob Miller, minister of the First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow in the family plot at Tucumcari Memorial park Cemetery. The family requests that donations be made to the First Christian Church and Home Health Care in memeory of Virginia Wood.
