PEORIA, Ariz. \emdash David John Timberlin, 84, of Peoria, AZ, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. David was born on October 16, 1933, in Auburn, IN. He graduated from Auburn High School in 1952 and is a 1956 Ball State University alumni. David met Beverly Jean Leas in the second grade at DeSota Elementary School and began dating in 1951. They married on December 19, 1954. and were blessed with two children, Michelle and David Douglas. David's career began in the grocery business at Kroger's followed by Leas' Quality Market in Auburn and Angola. David transitioned into Human Resources work at Dana Corp. in 1962, and in 1965 moved to Aeroquip in Jackson, MI. David's career continued to progress, which led to further opportunities with Tranter Co. in Lansing, MI, followed by a transfer to Wichita Falls, TX, in 1973. David successfully ran the Texas division of Panhandle Steele Inc. until 1981, when he purchased his own business, Cupp's Industrial Supply Inc., in Phoenix, AZ. David and Beverly ran a successful business for over 30 years, and their son continues to operate Cupp's today. Once David and Beverly retired, they had the pleasure of traveling the world and enjoying quality time with family and friends at their homes in Peoria, Mexico and northern AZ. David's biggest life achievement was his generosity towards others. All who know him have been blessed by his witty sense of humor, unmatched hospitality, abounding generosity and abundant love to all. He has quietly blessed so many throughout his life \emdash many will never know how much he has done for others. David is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Beverly Jean Timberlin of Peoria, AZ; two children, Michelle Litchey of Peoria, AZ, and David Douglas Timberlin (Ellen) of Peoria, AZ; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and his brother, Mike Timberlin (Marla) of Clearwater, FL. David is preceded in death by his parents and sister. A celebration of life will be held Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Abel Funeral Home, 1627 N. 51st Ave., Phoenix, AZ. 3
