John Shipe, Sr. was my gr gr gr Grandfather. He resided in Lancaster Co., PA and in about 1800 migrated to Mt. Pleasant Twp., Westmoreland Co., PA. He died there July 24, 1838 and is buried there. He was married to Catherine and had nine children. After the death of their parents, most of the children migrated on to Adams and Hancock Counties, IL, Noble and Dekalb Counties, IN and others.Children include Catherine (m Ben Clare), John Henry, Jr., Henry, Mathias, Abraham, Mary Emily (M David Furry), Susanna (m Gilbert Martin), Isaac, and Margaret (m David Clare).
