Shipe Cecil B, 69, of 113 W. Hobart St., Ashley, died at 11:20 p.m. Sunday at DeKalb Hospital from a heart condition. Born Oct. 31, 1914, he was the son of Bert E. and Hannah (Cottrell) Shipe. On March 29, 1936 he married Lois A. Johnson. A lifetime area resident he retired from Dept. 40 of Warner Gear Corporation 11 years ago after 32 years of employment. He was active in the Ashley Little League for 25 years and was a member of the Ashley Lodge No. 614 F&AM. Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Mrs. John (Ruth Ann) Pearson of Ashley; a son, Donald D. of Ashley; 3 brothers, John D. of Port Charlotte, Fla., Carl S. of rural Pleasant Lake, and Robert H. of Ashley; and 3 grandchildren. Services will be Wednesday at Kistler's Funeral Home of Ashley Hudson. Burial, Circle Cemetery. + 5-6-1984
