Jumped the broom stick.
Last Thursday afternoon, October 1st, 1907, There drove up to the residence of the probate Judge in his city, Mr. Phil Bennett and Miss Olive M. Lease who were quietly married by that officer, E.J. Everett.
The bride who has been living with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A.C. Lease, some fourteen miles northeast of town is possessed of those happy qualities that are equisite in making home a haven of rest, while the groom is one of Greeley's good citizens, a young man of steling qualities, and one who has a host of friends thru out the county. He has a "claim" twelve mile south east of Tribune, on which the happy couple will reside.
Marriage is said to be a lottery, but in this case, we trust that each has drawn a prize to be cherished in old age.
Phil remembered a number of his friends, while smoking the cigars, which were in order, wishing them long life and properity in the dual relations, which they had thus assumed.
Olive married Phillip Ellsworth Bennett, son of George W. Bennett and Margaret, on 1 Oct 1907 in Tribune, Greeley Co, KS. (Phillip Ellsworth Bennett was born on 1 Jul 1880 in Agra, KS and died on 25 May 1951 in Tribune, Greeley Co, KS.)
