Jonathan2 (Johnson) (William1) was baptized Aug. 14, 1641. He removed to Marlborough, Mass. where he was a farmer and blacksmith. He married Mary Newton, who was born about 1644, the daughter of Richard and Mary (White) Newton, on Oct. 14, 1663. This was the first marriage recorded in Marlborough, where he had been granted a house-lot of thirty acres. He was a selectman of the town in 1711, and in his later years was a school-teacher there. He died April 21, 1712; and his wife died Dec. 28, 1728. He divided his property by will. 4
