Cardinals and Snow in My Yard

This is difficult to do on a consistent basis.

Everyone should be quick to listen,
slow to speak
and slow to become angry.

January 11, 2010 - Baptism

Since the days when Jesus walked this earth, baptism has been a symbol of Christianity.

Although water is a key component of baptism, the Bible never defines how much water is to be used, nor does is define how the water is to be applied. Therefore, immersion, sprinkling, and pouring must all be considered acceptable methods of baptism.

December 24, 2009 - A magical moment.

The bright rays of the morning sun are
reflecting in the windows of my neighbor's house.

December 7, 2009 - We received about an inch of snow this morning. As I have for the last few days, I drove the 1981 T-Bird to work. The T-bird is about two miles long and it weighs about 47 tons and it has rear-wheel drive.

What fun this morning! Every turn from one road to another caused the T-Bird to fishtail. A couple of times, when I attempted to turn, the brakes locked up and I started to slide right by the place where I wanted to turn. I popped the gear shifter into neutral and cranked the wheel. Each time I successfully made the turn.

Although driving this morning was somewhat stressful, it was also kind of fun. Unfortunately the snow will be melted when I go home for lunch, but it was fun while it lasted!

December 4, 2009 - This morning I was greeted with some extraordinary sites.

As I left the house and started to breathe the cold crisp air, the vapor of my breath, as it left the warmth of my body, turned to steam. The rising sun caused these tiny particles of water and ice to reflect the rays of the sun. A twirling, twisting cloud of orange appeared before my eyes.

Then as I started to back my car out of the driveway I noticed that the sun was shining through the tiny pieces of frost that had formed on the side window of my car. It was as if my window was covered with beautiful, orange, sparkling jewels.

As I drove to work on the State Road 3 By-Pass I noticed a totally white billboard. The old message had been removed, but the new message had not yet been added to the billboard. Sitting on top of this billboard was a hawk and shining behind the hawk was the brightly lit moon. This sight warmed me to my core. It was as if the blank billboard and the majestic hawk were giving me a message of hope. They were telling me that I could cast away my troubles and that I could start anew with a blank canvas upon which I could write my own message of hope.

The sun, the frost, the air, the moon, the billboard, and the hawk were all giving me a message:

IT'S GOING TO BE A GREAT DAY!!!
