Greensburg track teams easily top JCD

Competing at home, the Pirate track teams posted a sweep over the Eagles.

For the boys, Greensburg won in dominating fashion 110-13.

The Lady Pirates also won big, 94-37.

The Lady Pirates swept the top three spots in the shot put and discus. Erica Schwering won the shot put (33-9.5) with Mollye Leas second (32-1) and Emily Oesterling third (31-6.5).

Leas won the discus (99-3.5) followed by Schwering (96-1) and Sabrina Smiley (85-7).

The Lady Pirates also swept the high jump and long jump. Tawna Chauncy won the high jump at 4-10 followed by Jasmine Littrell (4-10) and Tara Ramer (4-8).

In the long jump, Katie Burns was first (13-9.5) followed by Shelbi Reed (13-4.5) and Casey Nelson (12-8).

Taryn Owens won the 100 hurdles and came back to win the 300 hurdles. Greensburg’s Burns finished second in the 100 with Ramer third.

In the 200, Hannah Houk finished second (:30.01) with Ramer third (:33).

Reed ran to first in the 400 with a time of 1:08.

Brianna Parsons won the 800 (2:40) with Ann Weigel third (2:48).

In the 1600, Veronica Tuley won with a time of 6:12 and Gina Ricke was third in 6:47.

Tuley made it a double with a win in the 3200 (13:09) with Val Hagerty second in 14:19.

Greensburg won the 3200 relay in 11:43 and won the 1600 relay in 4:53.

It was much the same in the field events on the boys side. The Pirates took the top three spots in both the long jump and high jump. Matt Little won the high jump (5-8) with Matt Novak second (5-8) and Andrew Dougan and Cory Koors both third at (5-4).

Novak won the long jump with Greg Dougan second and Cody Stout third.

Elijah Harter won the discus at 117-10.5 with George Myers second at 116-6.

In the shot put, Senefield took first at 41-1 with Jordan Moore second (40-0.5) and Harter third (38-6.5).

Andrew Dougan won the 110 hurdles with Craig Schwipps second.

Schwipps took second in the 300 hurdles with Greg Dougan fourth.

Todd Noah ran to first place in the 100 with a time of 11:53. Colton Black was second followed by Nick Booker and Stout.

Black won the 200 with Booker taking second.

In the 400, Koors claimed the top honor with Miller third.

Landon Wenning won the 800 in 2:09 with Zack Powell second (2:17) and Herbert third (2:20).

Wenning also crossed first in the 1600 with Powell second.

Curtis Nieman won the 3200 with a time of 11:40. Rick Wininger was second at 12:13 and Colt Hyatt third at 12:36.

Greensburg swept the three relays—the 3200 in 10:18.69, the 1600 in 3:46 and the 400 in :48.5.
