Charles Walker ¹

  General Notes:

Of all the children of George and Julian Jean Walker, probably the least is known of Charles. He was born in about 1796 in Knox County, Tennessee, and may have lived and been counted in the Wayne County, Indiana census figures of 1830 and 1840, as a Charles was in those in Washington Township, which is also where George Walker is listed. No record of a Charles being married in Wayne County during this time period exists.

Recently when searching through the census records for Warren County, Iowa in 1860, studying Charles's brother, James, I found that Charles, at age 64, was apparently living with James on the farm near Hammondsburg, Iowa. An unknown Mary Walker, age 14, born in Indiana, was also in that census; she may have been Charles's daughter; otherwise she was a daughter of brother James.
