Appears on an original muster roll for 1st Co., 1st Battalion, York Co. Militia according to a return made 11 Apr 1778 (The York County Historical Society). Burial Place provided by K.E. (Leas) Stuart Anderson Leas wrote, "He lived awhile in Ohio at or near Lexington, Preble Co., OH. He was in his old days heavy set. Was a short man."

Notes for DANIEL LEASE I:

Member of Ist Co. -Ist Batallion York Co., Militia, as reported April 1, 1778. Also, later shows as Lt. of 3rd Co., 9th Batallion of York Co., Militia. On Tax rolls of Reading Twp. 1779-1783. In Reading Twp. in 1790 Census. In 1793 Daniel and Lydia deeded land to mother -then living in Newberry Twp., York Co., (land willed to him by Father). In 1800 US Census living in York Twp., York Co.

Daniel LEAS was born about March 28, 1752 in York County, Pennsylvania. He
served in the military in 1778.10 Abram, John, Daniel Lease and Benjamin Leas
were members of the 1st Co, 1st Battalion, York County Militia according to a
return made on April 11, 1778. This record was found by Carl W. Fleck on an
original muster roll at York County Historical Society. In 1782/83 he was a
Tavern Keeper in Reading Twp, York Co, PA. He appeared in the census in 1790 in
Reading Twp, York Co, PA.12 Daniel Leas had 6 males ( 3 under 16, 3 over 16)
and 2 females living in his household at the 1790 census. [NEED TO DEFINE
SENTENCE: Migrated] He died on May 2, 1836 in Lanier twp, Preble Co, Ohio. He
was buried in Roselawn Cemetery, Lewisburg, Preble Co, OH. He is reference
number Leas GB p10. He was adopted. Daniel LEAS and Lydia WORLEY were married
before 1775 in York County, Pennsylvania. Daniel and Lydia Worley Leas had five
known children. They appeared in the census in 1820 in Tyrone twp, Adams Co,
Pennsylvania.

Daniel next married Rachel Morgan on 3 Dec 1826 in Eaton, Preble County, Ohio, USA. (Rachel Morgan was born on 1 Sep 1783 in New Jersey, USA, died on 7 May 1845 in Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio, USA and was buried in Lexington Presbyterian Churchyard, West.)
