"The first steam flouring mill at Kokomo was the Leas mill, built nearly fifty
years ago across the railroad and opposite the Lake Erie Elevator. Worley Leas
was, for many years, the proprietor. In later years it was known as the Howard
Flouring Mills. The last proprietors were Darnall & Dawson. Lately it has been
discontinued."
